I am from

I am from fallow
The Bible
And stand for yourself.
I am from the long-gone woods
Cut down for a home
And river with its banks long and rough.
I am from a man long seen
Upon the rivers, his daughter loveing
And father strong.
I am from thick steaks
And noodles of my family's Golash
And chicken sizzling upon the stovetop.
I am from laughter and
From loving warmth
To chip away the pain of teasing.
I am from the word writ
From my oun hand
A hand stiff and in pain.
